Amber Valenzuela serves as the Field Media Advocacy Manager for the AHA’s California Tobacco Endgame Center for Organizing and Engagement. In this role, Amber will support the media advocacy work of local agencies, organizations and coalitions in their pursuit of local tobacco control and endgame policies. Prior to the AHA and for the last four years, Amber has worked in tobacco control encompassing media advocacy, project management, and community engagement around local policy campaigns. She has a passion for research and for community involvement around public health-related issues. She earned her BA in Family and Consumer Sciences with a concentration in nutrition and food at California State University, Sacramento and recently earned an MPH from California Baptist University. In her spare time, she loves working out, trying new healthy recipes, and spending quality family time with her husband and three children.
