SUMMARY:Information & Education Days
DESCRIPTION:May 11-12\, 2026\nInformation & Education Days (I&E Days) is an annual event organized by the American Heart Association’s Tobacco Endgame Center for Organizing and Engagement to educate the California Legislature about the impact tobacco has on our communities\, and the local efforts being carried out to address them.  For resources\, such as schedules and trainings\, for the 2025 Capitol I&E Days\, visit our resource page. \nView I&E Days Resource Page \nI&E Days Attendees\nParticipation in I&E Days 2025 is open to all CTPP-funded projects\, organizations\, and their coalition members. Community organizations and individuals working with local coalitions\, and funded projects are also welcome. \nDraft Agenda\nFinal agenda will be posted on the I&E Days Resource Page. \nDraft Agenda \nLegislative Meetings\nThe focal point I&E Days is meeting with your legislators – the state Assembly Member and Senator that represents you in Sacramento. The Tobacco Endgame Center will schedule your legislative meetings based on the voting address that you provide in registration. You will be joined by others who also live in the same Assembly and Senate districts. Attending the legislative meetings is mandatory for all I&E Days participants. \nBecause these meetings are done in a group\, there needs to be one person to serve as the Meeting Lead for each of the legislative meetings. The role of the Meeting Lead is to: \n\nServe as a point of contact to the Tobacco Endgame Center and for other people scheduled for that meeting.\nOrganize the meeting attendees to prepare for the legislative visit.\nEnsure that feedback is provided to the Tobacco Endgame Center team.\n\nHotel\nI&E Days will be headquartered at the Holiday Inn Downtown Sacramento and a block of rooms are available for I&E Day participants. The Opening Session on Monday\, May 11 will take place at the Holiday Inn as will the Tuesday\, May 12 Morning Session. \nHoliday Inn Sacramento Downtown – Arena\n300 J Street\, Sacramento\, CA 95814 \nHotel Website\nCheck-in: May 11\nCheckout: May 12 \nThe opening night session and morning gathering session will be held in the hotel’s meeting space. \nRooms are available first-come\, first-serve basis\, and/or until the room block is full. \nThe hotel is a 15-minute drive from Sacramento International Airport (SMF) and 15 min. walk from the California State Capitol. \nPrice: $150 (state rate) a night when you use the room block. \nBook your room here: AHA I&E Day 2026or call into the hotel at (916) 446-0100 to make reservations over the phone: Block Code:AHA \nI don’t have a work credit card that I can take with me to the Hotel. What do I do? \nOnce you have made your reservation\, you will need to call the hotel (916) 446-0100 and request an authorization form. The form will be emailed to you and you can select what you would like to pay for with your company card. You will need to do this soon after making your reservation and it cannot be done once you are at the hotel. \nRegistration Information\nThere will be a $185 fee to cover food\, beverages\, and other costs associated with this training event.  You will be emailed an invoice upon registering for the event. \nPayment is due April 10\, 2026. *No cancellations or refunds will be accepted after April 15. \nQuestions and Additional Information\nAll updates will be posted here.
