About the Campaign Organizing and Leadership Institutes
The Institutes are designed to create a unique learning and interactive experience. The course work will inspire you to refine your organizing and leadership skills, both as an individual leader and an influencer of others – coalition members, colleagues, partners, and supporters. You will be motivated to actively share your training experience and become empowered to teach, coach, and lead others in the California movement to end commercial tobacco. The Schedule
The Institute will be held by Zoom on over February 11-12, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Training Content
The Institute will focus on building a participant’s capacity and knowledge in several key training areas, including storytelling, leadership, community organizing, decision maker engagement, and strategic communications. There will be special guest speakers and networking opportunities during the Institute.
Application Process
The Institute is open to all CTPP-funded projects and participation is limited to 50 people. The Institute application will be available soon.
Application Deadline
Application deadlines is January 24, 2025. Applicants will be notified by January 27, 2025.

FAQs
What level of experience do I need to attend the Institute? Are the institutes just for experienced tobacco prevention advocates or can someone who is new to the movement apply?
Individuals of all experience levels with tobacco prevention, community organizing, and tobacco policy work may apply.
Can contractors, subcontractors, or consultants of CTPP-funded projects apply?
Possibly, depending on your connection to CTPP-funded projects. Please contact us separately to discuss.
Is the Institute open to coalition members?
At this time, the Institutes are only for staff of CTPP-funded projects. There may be an opportunity in the future for coalition member participation.
Can more than one person per CTPP-funded project apply for the Institute?
Yes. There is no restriction on how many staff members may apply from a project.
Will the Institute provide non-English language interpretation services?
The provision of interpretation services will be based on the language needs of the selected participants. Please indicate your needs on the application.
