Our Mission

Our Mission

The American Heart Association’s Tobacco Endgame Center for Organizing and Engagement will drive a comprehensive training and technical assistance program that engages California’s tobacco control movement and the public to achieve the ambitious and overarching goal of the elimination of tobacco use statewide by 2035.

Group of professionals having a discussion.
The California Tobacco Endgame Center for Organizing and Engagement (The Tobacco Endgame Center) is working to reduce tobacco use and its related environmental impact in three main ways.

First, we provide comprehensive training and individualized assistance to California’s tobacco control movement. We also offer a variety of resources ranging from sample letters to the editor to more in-depth training guides and presentations.

Second, we partner with local, regional and statewide tobacco control stakeholders. Together, we work to find ways to enhance your organizing and engagement efforts.

Finally, we serve as a hub for sharing information with diverse groups. For example, you may be involved in community organizing, community engagement or stakeholder outreach. Here you can find the information you need and a means by which to share it.

The American Heart Association is the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary health organization working in cardiovascular disease and stroke. Its mission is “to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives.” The AHA advances clinical and public health strategies for cardiovascular disease and brain health and associated risk factors, with an emphasis on vulnerable populations and the promotion of healthier lives for all. For decades, the AHA has worked in California providing life-saving services and supporting advocacy campaigns. This support has been at the state and local levels to advance public policy to improve public health.
