Check out the prepared social media posts below that you can use to share the message on your social media channels! Just download and re-post. We encourage all attendees and supporters back home to engage on Facebook, Instagram or X using hashtags #BigBadTobacco and #VoicesAgainstTobacco. Be sure to also tag us @CaTobaccoCenter and your legislator in posts!  For additional support, email [email protected].

To Use Prepared Posts:

  1. Select image and save it to your computer or phone.
  2. Copy and/or customize captions provided.
  3. Post to Social Media platform of your choice.
  4. Make sure to tag friends and include: #VoicesAgainstTobacco #BigBadTobacco

For Facebook, tap the post box. There will generally be a phrase like “Write something” or What’s on your mind?” Paste captions and image, click “Publish.”

For Instagram, tap the “+” button to create new post. Choose photo (s), type caption, share post.

For X, you can use up to 280 characters. From the Home screen, tap the Post icon in the bottom-right of screen. It looks like a + symbol inside a blue circle.  Add your image and post. To schedule your post to be sent at a later date/time, select calendar icon, schedule, and confirm.


You can also make it personal.
Personalized Examples:

  • I’m passionate about saving lives from #BigBadTobacco because my mother died from heart disease due to a lifetime of smoking. I’m grateful I get to share information with @LegislativeHandle during I & E Days. #VoicesAgainstTobacco
  • I’m passionate about saving lives from #BigBadTobacco because tobacco is the leading cause of preventable deaths. We can save 40,000 Californians each year. I’m grateful I get to share information with @LegislativeHandle during I & E Days. #VoicesAgainstTobacco
  • I’m passionate about saving lives from #BigBadTobacco bc the Tobacco Industry intentionally targets American Indians like my grandpa who we lost to lung cancer. I’m grateful I get to share information with @LegislativeHandle during I & E Days. #VoicesAgainstTobacco

Remember to:

  1. Monitor event hashtags #BigBadTobacco and #VoicesAgainstTobacco and engage in other’s posts to show solidarity and amplify our voices. Like, Share, Comment.
  2. Post a picture with your Assemblymember and Senator thanking them and/or their staff for their time and tag them.
  3. Use prepared posts (below) and/or post your own updates, interesting tobacco facts, photos, videos advocating for healthier communities using the hashtags.
  4. Personalize these messages, when possible, to include your personal story or your “why.” Personalization has the biggest impact.
  5. Follow the Tobacco Endgame Center @CaTobaccoCenter on X (Formerly Twitter), Facebook, and Instagram to easily share messages and join the conversation.

To download the image:

  1. Right-click on the image.

  2. Select “Save Image As” to download it to your device.

  3. Re-post it on your social media channels!
